Passover

Exploring Charoses and Horseradish

For the steps of Marror and Korech of the Seder, the Montessori students explored bitter horseradish and sweet Charoses. We made our own Charoses by grinding up nuts, cutting apples, and mixing it in with grape juice. Although the students didn't want taste the horseradish (no figure!!) they smelled it and the Morahs are so proud of them!!

Elijah's Cup

The Montessori class is almost done with their Haggadas.
Today we made a cup for Eliyahu Ha Navi.
The students can't wait to see the magic of Eliyahu coming and drinking the wine!!

Passover

This week, each student in the Montessori Classroom began working on their very own Haggadah!

We have already learned Kadesh, Urchatz, Karpas, and Yachatz; exploring each step through a project, hands on lesson, or arts n crafts.

We have two new lessons on the Hebrew Montessori shelf relating to the steps of the Seder. A Seder Plate matching lesson, where students can “write” the words of the items on the Seder Plate by matching Aleph Beis letters, and another matching lesson, where students can use cards to match the steps of the Haggadah to each other.

We look forward to finishing up our Haggadahs next week and begin practicing for our Model Seder!
